‚ÄčGreat things are done by a series of small things brought together. - Vincent Van Gogh

There's always been a creative side of me begging to come out in whatever form. As a child, I was constantly creating something from scraps of materials I would find around our house. I taught myself to knit, crochet, sew, draw, paint - you name the craft, I have done it.

Then I discovered beads. I was hooked. What began as a hobby has turned into a full-blown passion with the launch of my etsy shop, BeadJewelryShopgirl, in 2006 to feature my jewelry creations. My design style is bold and contemporary, not for the faint-hearted.

I love putting these tiny beads together, coaxing them against one another, combining shapes, sizes and colors, resulting in a unique piece every time.  I love coming up with different textures, especially when there is a visual and tactile contrast. It always delights me when something I've created that looks heavy, bumpy and stiff is actually light and flexible!

Lately, I've been exploring sculptural pieces. Oh, boy!

Bead on!
